Hello everybody! Today, in my blog, I will be discussing some current events going on in Russia. The biggest news in Russia in my opinion is the re-electing of Russia's president. Russian prime minister, Vladimir Putin was recently elected president in March of 2012. He will be taking office on May 7, 2012 and he will be there for at least another 6 years. He was succeeded Dmitry Medvedev and was president before this from 2000 to 2008. Also, news coming out of Russia is a UTair plane crashed in Siberia. Out of the 31 dead, one was found to be alive a week after the crash. Another story is about the confirmation of a Canadian naval officer passing information to Russia. Other events include Russia trying to improve its university rankings, Russia and the United States negotiating missle defense and my personal favourite is that the 2013 Winter Olympic games will be held in Sochi, Russia. Well, thats all folks! See you later.

That's very interesting, Noah! I had no idea that Russia had an election in March! London, England is holding the summer Olympics in 2012. I'm very excited for those and the winter olympics. The one person who survived the plane crash is very lucky! I would hate to be on the plane that crashed! I find Russia a interesting country and I am looking forward to learning more about it.
